The tradition of fine lakeside accomodations continues at The Village Inn
Come to picturesque Belgrade Lakes Maine and enjoy a little corner of Maine that has resisted the urge to become overly commercialized. It's the place where On Golden Pond was written and where you still can ride the Mail Boat. (It leaves from our dock every day at 10am) The Inn has a canoe for your enjoyment and docks on both Long Pond and Great Pond where you can tie up your boat, throw out a fishing line or just sit under the large weeping willows with a good book. You can watch the sun rise over Great Pond and set into the hills behind Long Pond. In the morning enjoy your continental breakfast with fresh pastries, home made granola, a selection of yogurts, cereals, juices, herbal teas and the famous Carrabasset Coffee available in our Breakfast room where board games and books are available for your pleasure.
During the day there are hikes to be made to the Kennebec Highlands, Blueberry Hill or French's Mountain; local shopping at the antique stores and quaint shops or golfing at the renowned Belgrade Golf Club; relaxing at the local spa or try a licensed Maine Guide for the fishing experience of a life time. Road trips to Augusta, the capital, or Freeport the shopping capital; the coast or the mountains are all easily accessible as day trips with plenty of time left to relax at days end and enjoy dinner at our renowned Restaurant or more casual fare at our Tavern with live music twice a week.
